Francisco Conceição is back from the World Cup — and Manchester United are already in the queue

The World Cup ink has barely dried and the transfer market is already boiling over. Francisco Conceição has returned from the tournament and, according to The Guardian, Manchester United want to seize the moment and prise him away from Juventus.
The 23-year-old Portuguese winger, formerly of Porto, is valued at around €50 million. Michael Carrick, linked to United's project, is said to be one of the driving forces behind the move. Chelsea have also appeared on the radar, but the Red Devils are reportedly ahead in the race.
And Conceição is not the only name stirring the window. The Guardian notes that United are also leading the chase for Alex Scott of Bournemouth, ahead of Chelsea themselves.
On the Portugal front, Golmetria's model puts the national side at a 100% chance of advancing at the World Cup — but the odds of lifting the trophy remain wide open, with the market pointing to roughly a 7.5% chance for the Portuguese. Nothing is guaranteed, then.
