Kane Steals Vini Jr.'s Spot in the 'White Chicks' Meme — and the Internet Has Already Clocked 7 Million Views

A new version of the viral World Cup meme puts Kane alongside Haaland in a 'White Chicks' edit that has already surpassed 7 million views.

The World Cup has its own language on social media — and the 'White Chicks' meme featuring Haaland has already become an unofficial tournament institution. Now it has a new version, and this time Vini Jr. has handed the starring role to Harry Kane.

An Instagram page recreated the iconic scene from the film with the English striker in the role previously played by Vini, set to the tune of 'A Thousand Miles'. The AI-generated edit has already surpassed 7 million views — and it's not hard to see why: Norway and England face off this Saturday at 18:00 (Brasília time) in Miami, in the World Cup quarter-finals.

In the original meme, Vini Jr.'s face replaced Terry Crews's, while Haaland played Tiffany Wilson. The Kane version casts the Englishman as Latrell Spencer — and the internet has embraced the swap. Alongside Kane, the same page also posted variations featuring Bukayo Saka and Jude Bellingham 'starring opposite' the Norwegian.

Off screen, the two stars of the meme are also the top scorers in this fixture: Haaland has seven goals at the World Cup and is the tournament's second-highest scorer; Kane has found the net six times.

The winner of the tie will face Argentina or Switzerland in the semi-finals. Golmetria's model gives England a 10.84% chance of lifting the trophy — a figure that rises to 22.29% for Argentina, the group's favourites.

Meme or not, Kane and Haaland have a date with destiny. And the world will be watching.
