According to ge, which picked up information from Spanish newspaper Marca, Real Madrid have already made contact with RB Leipzig to open negotiations for the Ivorian striker. The Spanish giants are reportedly willing to spend up to €90 million to land him.
Diomandé's story has exactly the kind of flavour football loves: developed at Leganés in Spain, he moved to Leipzig last year and quickly made clear he was no short-term visitor — 13 goals in 36 appearances in his debut season in German football. Real Madrid, it turns out, had already been watching him before the World Cup even kicked off.
At the tournament, the striker was a central figure for Ivory Coast. The African side beat Ecuador and Curaçao in the group stage, advancing as runners-up in Group E behind Germany. Elimination came in the round of 16, a 2–1 defeat to Norway — but Diomandé left the tournament with his passport firmly stamped for European stardom.
